Casella Family Brands (CFB) has announced the appointment of Oatley Fine Wine Merchants as its distribution partner for its premium wine portfolio in Australia, effective 1 July 2026. The partnership will see Oatley represent a CFB’s iconic Australian brands, including Peter Lehmann Wines, Morris of Rutherglen and Brand’s Laira in the on-premise and independent retail channels.

This year’s rankings were compiled from assessments of more than 10,000 wines, with only 429 wineries nationally receiving a Top Wineries Certificate—representing just under 16% of Australia’s 2,700-plus producers.

Casella Family Brands is pleased to announce a new strategic distribution partnership in New Zealand with Hancocks Family Merchants, effective 1 July 2026. Baileys of Glenrowan, Peter Lehmann Wines, and Morris of Rutherglen all retained prestigious 5-star ratings, while standout wines across the portfolio highlight our commitment to quality and excellence.

Casella Family Brands celebrated major wins at the 2021 Decanter World Wine Awards, with Morris of Rutherglen’s Old Premium Rare Topaque earning 98 points—the highest of any Australian wine. Across the portfolio, we secured 1 Platinum, 3 Gold, 9 Silver, and 15 Bronze medals, highlighting the quality and global recognition of our wines.

Casella Family Brands has partnered with Altina Wildlife Park to create a new sanctuary for the endangered Yellow Footed Rock Wallaby—the inspiration behind the iconic [yellow tail] logo. With $81,300 donated toward the project, the sanctuary supports a successful breeding program aimed at preserving this beloved native species.

The 2021 Halliday Wine Companion results are in, and Casella Family Brands has plenty to celebrate. Morris of Rutherglen led the way with a stellar 99-point score for its Old Premium Rare Liqueur Topaque NV. Across the portfolio, 27 wines scored 95+ points, and four wineries—Peter Lehmann, Brand’s Laira, Morris, and Baileys—earned prestigious red 5-star ratings, showcasing excellence across the board.

Les Worland was honoured as the inaugural “Riverina Legend” in 2019 for his outstanding contribution to the local wine industry. With over 30 years of service across wineries and industry roles, Les is celebrated for his leadership, dedication, and enduring passion for the Riverina region.

Three of our standout wineries earned spots on The Real Review’s Top Wineries of Australia 2020 list. Peter Lehmann Wines ranked #136, Baileys of Glenrowan at #158, and Morris of Rutherglen soared into the top 10 at #8—an impressive rise, showcasing the strength and quality of our regional wine producers.

Despite challenging weather, the 2020 vintage across Baileys, Brand’s Laira, Morris, and Peter Lehmann Wines delivered promising results. From cool, slow ripening in Rutherglen to standout Cabernet in Coonawarra, each winery adapted with careful vineyard management and bold experimentation. The result? Lower yields, but concentrated flavours and exciting wines in the making.

Peter Lehmann Wines continues to champion South Australian Semillon, earning top marks at the Winewise Championships for their Margaret vintages from 2012, 2017, and 2019. Praised for their richness, balance, and vibrant citrus character, these wines showcase the enduring quality of Barossa Valley Semillon.
