We’re thrilled to announce that five Peter Lehmann Wines have been selected for Matthew Jukes’ 100 Best Australian Wines, a testament to our team’s passion for creating wines of depth, distinction and undeniable regional expression.
Matthew described our 2024 Hill & Valley Eden Valley Riesling as “a raspy, limey roller coaster of a wine with impressive depth of flavour”, celebrating its vibrancy and remarkable purity.
Our celebrated 2018 Wigan Riesling was praised as a wine that “rivals Alsatian Grands Crus at three times the price” and one that any mature Riesling lover would be “bonkers not to track down.” A powerful endorsement of this iconic release.
Two quintessential Barossa Shiraz also earned their place on the list. The 2023 Hill & Valley Shiraz was recognised for having “more depth, gravitas and layers than you can imagine at this price”—a wine that stays true to our heritage of crafting expressive, characterful Barossa reds.
The 2018 Stonewell Shiraz, from a standout vintage, was described as “a chiselled matinee idol… with a mighty history” and deemed “up there with the very best.”
Taking centre stage was the 2020 Black Queen Sparkling Shiraz. Celebrated for its recent trophy at the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge, Matthew declared it “nothing short of spectacular”.
