- VARIETALBlue Imperial/ Cinsaut
2016 Bin 80 Blue Imperial$150 / Case of 6
A morris icon, the grape variety Cinsaut has been plated at our vineyards since 1920. It wa snot until 1962 that the first dry red table wine was made. Historicallyin Australia, this varietal has earned the moniker ‘Blue Imperial’ due to the blue hue of the grape skin and large size of the berries.
This wine displays a medium depth crimson red colour, with a bouquet of lifted savoury spice and berry fruits, with subtle cedar oak influence. The palate is medium-bodied with soft fresh berry fruits, combined with a good length of lingering flavours; rounded by fruit and oak tannins. Suitable for drinking now or can be carefully cellared until 2023.
