2007 1919 Shiraz

John Casella originally created Casella 1919 with a view to crafting a small quantity of wines that he could give as a gift to those that had supported him throughout his journey.The name of the wine is steeped in history with 1919 being the year that the first vineyard was planted on Farm 1471 in Yenda.

Winemaker Notes

This beautifully crafted Shiraz displays ripe fruit aromas, while maturation in French and American oak barrels adds structure and density to complement intensity. Soft tannins are well integrated resulting in a wonderfully complex wine that is a true representation of a classic Wrattonbully Shiraz.
