In 2019 Casella Family Brands celebrates its 50th anniversary. It was in 1969 that Filippo and Maria Casella applied for a licence and officially started making wine. The solid open concrete fermenter was constructed by Filippo on 31st January 1969 and still stands at the Yenda winery today.
Giving back to the local community has always been an integral part of the business with the Casella family committing support to a wide range of charities and fundraising initiatives since its inception in 1969. To mark its 50th anniversary year, Casella Family Brands is launching ‘Casella50for50’, a program designed to provide funding to benefit the wine regions the company’s wineries call home.
Through the Casella50for50 campaign, Casella Family Brands will pledge $50,000 in 2019 ($10,000 each to the wine regions of Riverina, Barossa, Limestone Coast, Rutherglen and Glenrowan) to fund projects that will have a lasting community benefit.
Not-for-profit organisations, foundations and project owners are invited to apply for all, or a proportion, of the $10,000 allocated to their wine region through this online application process.
Applications open - 1 July 2019 and close on 31 July 2019 at 5pm AEST.
We look forward to notifying the successful applicants w/c Monday 2 September 2019.
“With the company growing from our home in the Riverina to include wineries across Australia, our community giving efforts have become even more important. There are now five wine regions and local communities where Casella Family Brands has a presence and our employees, growers, partners and suppliers live and work. It’s very important to me that we are actively involved in the local communities and continue to make a positive impact.
Casella50for50 is our way of saying thank you and giving back in a milestone year for the company, as it recognises the contribution of those around us in achieving the success we are so fortunate to have today.”
